Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have shoulder pain for the last 3-4 months which was increasing. I was taking arcoxia for pain and anti inflammation. Then Ortho. doctor advised me to get 3 injections of diprofos after the intervals of 15 days. I took one on 5th Jan., But now I read on internet that this is steroid. I also not satisfied with the results of this dose. What shall I DO
Hi, This is probably a case of Rotator cuff inflammation which can cause secondary stiffness of the shoulder ( due to adhesions and also due to unuse of shoulder). Main aim of treatment in such conditions is to maintain mobility of shoulder by mild shoulder mobilizing exercises. At the same time pain reducing treatments like analgesics and physiotherapy like Ultrasound massage is done. This if followed systematically, usually patient feels better in about 6 weeks. IF not, steroid injection is an option ( maximum of 3 in no. as per recent norms ).This will come down certainly. The only uncertainity in this condition is " time duration" which it takes to settle down. Please be patient and follow these guidelines.
