Hello, I am a 24 year old male with chronic High Blood pressure. Over the past year I have been attempting to regulate my blood pressure with two medications. The first medication that I was on was Amlodopine 10mg daily. After a couple of months I began to experience several side effects such as excessive tiredness, weakness, muscle spasms, headaches, blood pressure fluctuations, dizziness with position and elevation changes, confusion, and limited attention span. I ask my Primary Doctor that I wanted to change my medication because of the side effects so I was then placed on Hydrochlorothiazide 25mg. After a few days I was experiencing side effects with this medication as well. The side effects included nausea, eye soreness, muscle cramps and pain (flu like), dry mouth, headache, weakness, tiredness, and loss of appetite. She said to stop all medications altogether for now. During this time I have been closely monitoring my blood pressure every few days and it is been continuing to increase to 150 over 100. What class of anti-hypertensive medication should I ask my primary doctor to change me to next in order to control my blood pressure? Cody
