Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Cortisone Injection

I am 50 years old, 5 2 , 95 lbs. I had a cortisone injection 5 years ago to treat hair loss on my scalp. The injection caused an adverse reaction in which a divet or dip was created on my head at the injection site. It was about the size of a golf ball. The doctor said it was a reaction to the injection, and it would heal. It did heal, to a certain degree but was not 100% normal. However, now, five years later, I have discovered not only one diver, but another that are both significantly deep. How did this occur?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Apply ice to the injection site as needed to relieve pain. Don't use heating pads. Watch for signs of infection, including increasing pain, redness and swelling and get medical advice as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
