Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just started taking hydralazine. I am experiencing vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. I had been taking lisinapril, until this week , I went to the er with a swollen tounge. My primary m.d. switched me to hydralazine. Now I m experiencing these side effects. What should I do?
Probably you suffered from allergic reaction to lisinopril. Therefore you are switched from lisinopril to hydralazine. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are very common side effects of hydralazine. These are usually seen during early stage of treatment and usually resolve without treatment in due course of time. Advice 1. Continue hydralazine as suggested after meal. Do not take it in an empty stomach 2. Do not immediately lie down after meal 3. If these side effects are intolerable then you can take metoclopramide I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thank
