Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Labetalol

Hi---daughter, 37, recently prescribed Labetalol for HBP. She has sporadic increases in blood pressure. She has had anxiety problems. Dr. prescribed 100 mg in morning/ 100 mg at night. She is experiencing dizziness, chest pain. Too much for her? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think it's too much for her. But, I think Labetalol has started to take effect. So, need to reduce the dosage but still should continue taking it.

Please monitor her blood pressure, and heart rate, and record the results for reference. Report this as a side effect of Labetalol to her doctor so can change dosage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
