Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection And Throbbing Pain In The Forehead
Hi, I think I may have a sinus infection but am not sure. A few weeks (around Mother s Day) ago I had a head cold. That went away, but about a week ago or so, I started to experience a throbbing pain in my forehead above my right eye. I am not stuffed up, although I do have some drainage in the back of my throat. I ve tried over the counter sinus meds, like Sudafed, but they haven t helped much, Although hot compresses seem to bring temporary relief. Thank you for your help and opinion.
The sudafed is a decongestant that would help open up the sinuses but it needs to be combined with other medications for it to be effective.
An oral antihistamine and pain killers should be added. You may also need to add a mucolytic to help decrease the thickness of mucus in the sinuses so that they can better drain.
Eg of mucolytics include bisolvan, mucomyst, guaifenesin
I hope this helps
