Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection

I was just diagnosed with E-Coli sinus infection. Please tell me where it came from in my sinuses, and will antibiotics get rid of it. Should any other testing in my body be done? Should I do anything else besides the antibiotics? This really concerns me . Can this lead to any other condition. Waiting to here ! Thank you Linda YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
This could have spread to your sinuses from an infected person.
Yes, this can be treated effectively with cephalosporin group of antibiotics, especially 3rd generation. No other test is required.
Along with antibiotics you also need steam inhalation. This promotes sinus ventilation and improve sinus drainage.
If sinus pain present then you can take analgesics like paracetamol.
If its not improving with antibiotics, then it can lead to other complications, that is involving eyes, brain. This risk is there for any sinus infection depending the individuals immunity and resistance of organism not only for E Coli. So nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions, I am happy to help you.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr Paparaja S MBBS MS
