Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello Doctor, for last 5 months im having some kind of skin allergy which comes and goes in some hours time. It becomes very itchy on some parts of the body and looks like mosquito bite, but there are no mosquitos in the city where i live. Sometimes my lips also becomes swollen. Why is this happening? I consulted the doctor here, she prescribed me Gupisone 40 one dosage after breakfast and Chlorohistol one dosage after dinner. Please advice if the medication is fine or i need to go for some check up? Thanks!
Since the source of the reaction is not known, you may want to consider allergy testing.
This can be in the form of blood tests or skin prick testing.
This would determine exactly what is causing your reaction. A dermatologist may be the best person to do this for you. Your doctor should be able to refer you to one of these specialists.
The use of oral antihistamines would help to decrease the itching once it does occur.
I hope this helps
