Suggest Treatment For Skin Allergy Caused By Naproxen
I ve been taking Naproxen 500mg for 2 months for a foot injury. Now I have bad hives, bad rash, weird shapes/spots all over my arms/legs/stomach/bag... now today my face esp. forehead and back of neck. Worse is my eyelids, cheek/nose area and mouth are swollen. I was prescribed zyrtec by a treat and release physician yest... but now just checked the side effects of naproxen and sounds like I have an allergy. I ve been taking it 24/7 for the past 2 wks straight. What do you think? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bad hives and rashes which is skin allergy caused by unknown drug interaction.
I would suggest you
- Use of topical antibacterial clindamycin gel.
- Avoid exposure to sunlight and cover skin while going outside.
- Drink plenty of water.
You should visit dermatologist once. For skin allergy you should go for allergy tests that can be done to determine the source of allergen. Start treatment after proper prescription. Till then stop taking Naproxen.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
