Hello,

You are suffering from skin reaction to the poison oak. You are suggested to avoid visiting areas where you have get an allergic rash and other reactions due to poison oak. You should wear long sleeves, long pants, boots, and gloves to ensure that as little skin as possible is exposed so that you are protected from any king of skin allergy. Wash any clothes exposed to poisonous plants in hot water, with detergent, and not with any other clothes. Since you are already allergic to poison oak. do not burn poisonous plants, as inhaling the smoke from these plants may cause you to experience severe respiratory allergies.

Take bath and clean the nails also. Wear soft cotton clothes. You can apply calamine lotion to reduce discomfort. Applying ointment Hydrocortisone on the affected area will help to reduce inflammation, redness, itching. You can also take antihistamine, once daily for 5-7 days to reduce the discomfort. Get clinically examined by a dermatologist, you may need a course of corticosteroids if the skin reaction is resistant and takes time to go. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
