AT the base of my small toe and the one next to it, it appears to have split. I can't tell if this is the result of dry skin, or some other reason, Other than than splits of the skin at the base of the toe, there are no other symptoms or observations .
Hi there! The lesion that you describe is usually due to either a fungal infection or due to allergy. Usually seen in people who walk barefoot. The solution in this case is 1)to avoid walking barefoot and preferably use a shoe that covers the foot completely and 2) use an ointment that has a combination of an Antifungal like Clotrimazole and a mild steroid like Beclomethasone . Apply this ointment 2 times a day after cleaning with mild soap and water and drying with a clean tissue. Hope this helps.
