Suggest Treatment For Sleep Apnea, High BP And Depression

One of my doctors finally tested me for magnesium deficiency and also ordered the 24 hour urine test and it has been founded that I do not absorb magnesium at all. I take 400 mg of magnesium suppliments two times daily and eat high enriched foods with magnesium each day. I also receive magnesium infusions three times a week 2mg each time. My blood draw S for my rare condition is taken every Monday and ranges only 1.1_1.3 usually, on occasion it has reached 1.5. I have many health issues: sleep apnea, diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, labeled with big polar disorder, manic depression, and now a dr is saying adhd. Do you have any suggestions I keep finding my own answers because the two doctors I have seen for this just say sorry, there is nothing I can do to help u. With today s technology I find that hard to believe they did not even try. Some registered nurses and some friends have been helping me do research on this. At Wal-Mart there are two things I have recently tried leg cramp medicine for the wicked painful long lasting debilitating charley horse cramping and dr. Steals eucalyptus spearment magnesium citrate body wash to absorb some may. Through the skin Dr or anyone out there thAt can help I would like to hear suggestions. I am sick of feeling so exhausted, weak and run down every comment of my life!!!!! Please HELP!!!!!!!!

Hi,

Well, first some tests should be done to see what type of sleep apnea is present. The ost commonly used is a sleep study, which may require an overnight stay at a sleep center. The sleep study monitors a variety of functions during sleep including sleep state, eye movement, muscle activity, heart rate, respiratory effort, airflow, and blood oxygen levels. This test is used both to diagnose sleep apnea and to determine its severity. Sometimes, treatment can be started during the first night in the sleep center.

The treatment of choice for obstructive sleep apnea is continuous positive airway pressure device (CPAP). CPAP is a mask that fits over the nose and/or mouth, and gently blows air into the airway to help keep it open during sleep. This method of treatment is highly effective. Using the CPAP as recommended by your doctor is very important.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
