My husband has been on PD at home for 1 plus years; he is 81 years old. He manages quite well for the most part but the night cramps are so disruptive to his sleep. He takes 2 sleeping pills (prescribed) to get more sleep. He was also having trouble with frequent trips to the bathroom, lots and lots of gas episodes and bleeding hemorrhoids. He reduced his Tums to one each meal and does not do his "3rd bag" on weekends, and that seems to help. Does this make sense to do? We haven't seen his nephrologist yet but have told the nurse. His labs are usually very good.
Hi mam, as he is 81 yr old... He may be suffering with some psychological or depressive symptoms which disrupting his sleep...So I would like. Advise him to start escitalopram and clonazepam 0.25 mg in the night....In addition heis having muscle cramps could be due to ca deficiency, so better to start ca tabs. As u mentioned that he have increased frequency of urination...Could be due to diabetes....I would advise you get FBS and ppbs done to rule out diabetes.please consult general surgeon for haemorrhoids
