Suggest Treatment For Sleep Related Problem.

well m from india...and my mother who is 46 is in the habbit of taking nitrest frm a long period of time...now diz tablet is in her diet.,,she was havin sleep related prblm be4...but now,,,,,,even after she takes diz tablet,,,she just don t sleepmoreover she just don t want to vist a docter...sir tell me wot shud i do!!!????

hello user , i understand your concerns. since she was taking nitrest(zolpidem) , she may have devloped tolerance to it and thus not having adequate effects- you have not mentioned dosage of it , if taken in 5 mg doses - then dose can be increased to 10 mg in such cases - also she can be given a short course of benodiazepines like clonazepam or melatonergic drugs like agomelatine ,ramelteon etc- but these should be prescribed by a qualified psychiatrist only - also he may evaluate for any coexisting other disorder like anxiety or depression leading to insomnia and treat accordingly - one way of getting her to psychiatrist can be cutting off her supply of zolpidem also , if any pharmacy is providing her that without prescription you may ask them not to do so .
