I have tried health food store recommendations and that has not helped. I am physically active and in over all good health. I need help , this is very frustrating , and I am very discouraged. Can you help me ?
You are 70 years old and have complaints of sleeplessness. Such symptoms result in development of anxiety and depression. As you are 70 so common sleep medicines like benzodiazepine should be avoided in your case because of risk of deterioration of cognitive impairment with drugs. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for treatment of sleeplessness.
Medicines like Trazodon, Mirtazapine can be used in your case to sleep. These medicines are non-benzodiazepines and can be even used in elderly persons. You can visit a psychiatrist for proper prescription for these drugs. I would also advise you to improve sleep hygiene to have better sleep.
Thanks, hope this helsp you
