Suggest Treatment For Small And Hard Bump On He Upper Lip?
I have a small hard bump on my upper lip it has been there for four months it hasn t grow in size however it gets smaller at times I have spoken to my primary doc and was told I should see an oral surgeon in which I did and was told that I should have it removed in which it would be cut away and my upper lip would be stitched up do you think it is a blood clot and should I get further testing?
I can understand your concern. If the lump you have was a blood clot, it would not have stayed at the place for 4 months and would have been resoled by now on its own. Having a swelling or bump on the lip for four months indicates that you need to get it diagnosed and removed.
Visiting an oral surgeon would have been my first advise and you have already done so. It is difficult to tell you now what the lump can be because it needs examination regarding its size, texture, color, associated symptoms etc., but the oral surgeon can be considered a best judge regarding it. As he has advised its removal, it should be carried out.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. I wish you recover soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
