Suggest Treatment For Small Red Pimple On The Face

I developed a small red pimple on my face, it looks like a regular pimple only been there less than a week, how can I tell the difference if it is something I should have checked for cancer. I don't want to run to a dermatologist for a pimple. My friend has skin cancer on her face and has made me nervous about this.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. If you have this pimple for about a month without any remission or if it grows in size or ulcerates, then it is time to go to a specialist to check for the cancer.

As you are having this pimple for less than a week, you can simply wait for few weeks for it to heal as it might be simple pimple and you are obviously anxious after knowing your friend's health status.

Some other things to look for are presence of any painless swelling or growth in any area of the body that has been there for a long time without change, changes in the birth marks like moles, painless ulcers present for long time etc.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
