Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My grandson has had a sore on his knee for a couple of weeks, due to football practice and games it has taken a long time to heal. Yesterday at his game, he reinjured the spot, causing a blood blister approximately the size of a dime. My question is, should we pop it or let it heal as is?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, I understand your query. Do not disturb the blood blister ( hematoma ) over knee . Let it hewal by itself. You can try cold packs & pain killers as & when required. He should avoid re injuring the part, till it gets healed. Let him wear a protective bandage/ avoid playing till then. Thanks.
