Suggest Treatment For Sore Spot On The Buttocks Indicate

I have gotten a sore on one side of my upper crack of my butt at least 3-4 times a year for several years now. It is not close to my anus; it is almost at the top of where my crack starts, and is sometimes closer to the actual crack than at other times. I can t see it, but when I feel it, it feels like a round fever blister. It starts out itching, so I know it s coming. Then as it progresses, it gets sore enough that I m aware of it like when I sit back against it. Irritation from it spreads to the actual crack of my butt which becomes red and itchy and feels raw. I treat it by scrubbing it with Peroxide, or sometimes Listerine Mouthwash, then I rub Abreva Cold Sore Treatment, or Neosporin Cream into it real good several times a day. It will usually last 1-2 weeks. I m wondering what it is, why it re-occurs, why it erupts in my but crack area and what I can do to prevent it. I ve recently started wearing all cotton underwear, but I am overweight, so it s a tight spot. I try to keep clean and dry, especially in that area. I shower every day. What do you think?

Hello,

You are suffering from sore spot on the buttocks, it becomes red and itchy. You are suggested to wear comfortable fitting inner clothes that absorb sweat. Apply sunscreen lotion between butts to prevent your skin from sunburn. Take care of your hygiene. Avoid irritants and allergens that could trigger symptoms like bubble baths, sprays and detergents. Avoid skin contact with someone who has active herpes. Do not share your toiletries with anyone.

You are suggested to apply hydrocortisone cream on the affected area for relief. Your symptoms may be indicative of herpes as it recurs. It is highly contagious and spreads by direct contact with the skin lesions. You are recommended to take blood test to analyzes a sample of your blood for the presence of HSV antibodies to detect a past herpes infection.

If positive report is attained you will be treated with antibiotics and antivirals. Get clinically examined by a urologist and get STD tests done to be on the safer side. You can take ibuprofen to reduce fever, pain and muscle aches caused by the virus. Wear loose clothes to minimize skin irritation. Apply ice pack to relieve swelling and discomfort. Stay away from any sexual activity for a couple of days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
