Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Cough

I have had a cough and very sore throat that has been going on for over three weeks my ears are now bothering me. I have been to two different doctors which they say that it is the common cold. I have taken a full bottle of antibiotics and cough syrup with codeine had two different steroid shots. This is still not going away. I want to add it feels like I am swallowing over something each time I swallow and my voice has came and went through the 3 weeks of having this. Can you please tell me if this is serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern. I think that your symptoms are related to the inflammation of the larynx. Some advice that I can give you are:

1) Use a humidifier at home.
2) Drink a lot of liquids.
3) Steam inhalation.
4) Use a decongestant.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other questions, Ill be glad to help.

Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
