Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing
Hello. My mother who is 56 years old has been suffering for almost 2 months now. She had flue-like symptoms, extremely soar throat which became so raw with rash-like protrusion which made swallowing anything very difficult. She has trouble sleeping, has tighness of chest, trouble breathing and now having loose motionns also as of today. Could you please tell me what she might have and who she might see?
As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and difficulty in swallowing which are pointing towards a condition known as tonsillitis and untreated upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to :-
- Take ibuprofen or tylenol for pain and swelling . - Take steam inhalation. - Do warm saline rinses several times a day. - Avoid taking sharp food and go for walk daily and do not take large meals at a time.
Consult ENT specialist for proper examination and doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis and may prescribe broad spectrum antibiotics. Doctor may also recommend tonsillitis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
