Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Ear Infection
Hi. a few weeks ago I felt like I swallowed something and didn t go down rght... then got as sore throat a few days later. after sore throat went away I started feeling a pain or itchiness in ear area all on right side. Now I have what feels like muscle pain and defiantly something near my windpipe... afraid its something very serious
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and ear infection which can occur due to bacterial infection of upper respiratory tract which is reaching eustachian tube and leading to its dysfunction.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once and go for otoscopic examination and blood and throat swab tests. Doctor may prescribe you stronger antibiotics along with decongestant. Apply dry hot compresses to external ear. You should not touch or prick ear with any sharp object. Avoid taking cold carbonated beverages and avoid taking oily, fried and spicy food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari

General & Family Physician, Dr. Asad Riaz's Response
Hi, Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Asad Riaz, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem. Given the details you have provided you are likely to be having an upper respiratory tract infection which is more often than not viral in origin. Soothing the throat by gargles and steam almost always help. You can also use tea or coffee. Any preparation of fexofenadine/pseudoephedrine taken at night will help your problems. Along with that you will have to take tablet azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 3 days
I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask.
Regards.
Dr.Asad Riaz. General and Family Physician..
