Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain it seems that you have a viral
throat infection and
excessive salivation can be experienced in two conditions:
1.If swallowing is reduced like in case of throat pain.
2.Salivation is really increased due to some underlying cause..
In your case it seems that although some amount of salivation might have increased due to infection but more problem is due to reduced swallowing due to throat pain..
Nothing to worry as there seems nothing serious and you should start doing warm saline gargles..
Suck on throat lozenges for relief..
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like
Ibuprofen.
Gargle with anti-microbial mouthwash will help in reducing infection as well as reduce saliva flow as it has a drying effect in mouth..
At times there is secondary bacterial infection along with viral, therefore antibiotics like
Azithromycin 500mg once a day should be taken..
Avoid spicy and hard food and take a
soft diet and ample of rest..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
