Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Severe Throat Pain

I have had a soar throat off and on for several weeks. It seems to be my tonsils. If I drink ice water it starts to hurt. Today after eating a sandwich it went away for several hours. After drinking a cold drink it started hurting again, now it is hurting every time I swallow. I never had a cold or flu. Should I see doctor?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The soreness in the throat can be secondary to peritonsillar abscess. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling.
