Hello, I please need help, Im 18, just graduated and got addicted to Smokeless Tobacco, ive been doing it for about 4 months, started off once every 3 days and currently twice a day.. Once in a while i would get a sore in my mouth but it would go away.. But 2 weeks ago i started to get a sore throat and my Lymph nodes are swollen and it feels like there is something back there, there is a small white patch and veiny red veins in the back of my throat, but near my adams apple is sore too.. Im very scared and fear the worst, i dont want my mom finding out i dipped or she would probably kick me out of the house.. Or maybe its just a cold that im passing.. I made a doctors appointment next week .. Please help....

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are having acute follicular tonsillitis or acute pharyngitis. Take a swab from the throat and sent for culture and sensitivity. The lymph nodes will decrease after pharyngitis gets resolved.
