Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With Blood Phlegm

Two days ago I felt like I cam down with the flu- could barely move, was super tired and my face hurt. Yesterday, I felt slightly better but was still moving slowly and started having chunky-ish phlegm, a sore throat. I think I may have had a fever both days. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your probable diagnosis is acute pharyngitis case.

Decongestant like Levocetirizine can be prescribed. Short term steroid course of Betamethasone also can be prescribed in place of Levocetirizine if congestion more.

Investigate with CBC, ASO titre as well.

If needed antibiotic course prescribed.

Avoid excess spicy foods. Drink more water.

Your auscultation also should be done.

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
