i was forced to do something i did not want to do with a guy, and i am a very panicky person.. so im very scared that i might have an std. my throat is sore, but i live in las vegas so it is very dry and i dont drink much water so that could be the reason. but i do not know what to do
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat which is due to upper respiratory tract infection , which occur due to bacterial or viral infection . I would suggest you to do gargles with warm saline water , drink plenty of fluid to keep your self hydrate , take ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation and take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl. Usually virus complete its course , so drugs are given to relief symptoms. If symptoms persist or get worse then you should consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to rule out conditions like acid reflux and bacterial infection . Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverage Doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to confirm diagnosis . He/she may prescribe decongestants , antibiotics/antiviral depending upon your condition .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
