Suggest Treatment For Sore Vagina And Pain While Urinating
I was at the doctor on Thursday and complained of a sore vagina and pain while urinating. He tested my urine and said it was not a UTI. He gave me a gynecological exam and said he believes I have bacterial vaginosis. He took a culture and I am waiting on the results. In the interim he prescribed for me Metronidazole gel. I used it once and the pain was so bad I stopped. I believe it made the burning worse. Now they won t give me anything for the pain until the culture comes back. It is horrific and I hold urine all day not to pee. I got AZO over the counter and it did nothing. Can you please help me? I can barely walk
You can try using an anti inflammatory pain killer specifically for the pain. It would not treat the underlying illness but would help reduce your discomfort, that is naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam. In addition, a sitz bath may also help to relieve some of your discomfort. This means sitting in a warm sitz bath or tub for 15 to 20 mins, 2 to 3 times a day. The water should be warm not hot and contain table salt or epsom salt. It is possible with the use of pain killers that you may be able to tolerate the metrogel.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
