Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Painful Ankle After Injury
I was working out last friday night doing box jumps, I slipped/fell off the box and got cut on a metal point on the box with a purple bruise that swelled up. That night I cleaned the cut and iced it and again on saturday all day. Monday my leg felt good, the bruise is huge but it wasn t sore. Today (Tues) there is a white bump in the middle of the bruise surrounding the cut that is extremely painful and hot. Now my leg is very sore and throbbing and If you put any pressure on the area I gasp. The bruising is also going down my leg to my ankle, not sure what to do. The cut/ bruise happened on the middle section of my tibia.
Hi. It is good to hear that you work out regularly. However it does sound as if, on this occasion, your injury requires medical treatment. I would be most concerned about the wound having become infected. Provided this is treated promptly with appropriate antibiotics, you should hopefully be able to get back to normal activity soon.
