Suggest Treatment For Soreness And Swelling In Hand

I was diagnosed with mersa on my hand four days ago in the er. Prescribed antibiotics which didnt work. So the day before yesterday returned to the er and recd iv antibiotics. Which seemed to help, yesterday my hand looked better. Now, today it is draining, but very sore and still extremely swollen. Should I return to the er?

If the pain is still severe and the hand swollen, it would be best to return to the ER or to your doctor as soon as possible for an assessment.

There should be at least some minimal improvement, it is not expected that the symptoms should be resolved but some small initial positive change should be seen.

MRSA can be difficult to treat but it is possible that the infection may resolve with adequate treatment.
