Suggest Treatment For Soreness In The Hand After Spraining It
I twisted my hand and thumb 3 days ago and it has been stiff and sore. I have been putting arnica gel on it a few times each day. Today a red blotch has appeared on the top of my hand and I don t remember hitting the top of my hand. I am not allergic to arnica gel. Is this a severe sprain?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications? *how old are you?
I recommend : -ice the area several times a day. Wrap ice pack in a thin cloth. -apply anti-inflammatory ointment thrice a day after warm compresses. You can apply ice after an hour of this. -avoid any activity that uses the injured areas. -keep affected arm elevated at shoulder level while awake and elevate to heart level while sleeping. If the bruise worsens or symptoms don't reduce in 2 days, see am orthopedic doctor. -you may need an x-ray to rule out fracture.
Please try these measures for 2 days. If better, continue the same for a week and reduce frequency as symptoms improve. If not see a doctor. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health
