I fell on Friday and landed on a concrete slab.It had a piece cut out of the middle just enough to where my show could get stuck. Now my knee feels like it s stuck and severely sore.I am having trouble walking.I have an appointment with my orthopedist on Tuesday but no pain meds are working for now.Is there anything you can do ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. There might be some ligament tear or a mild fracture near the knee joint. right now, till you go to your orthopedician, the only solution is immobilization, that is you need to take complete rest, without moving your leg. Only to bathroom and toilet you can go. Rest of the time take rest and take pain killers. Rest will decrease the inflammation around the joint. The orthopedician may ask for an xray and CT scan. And depending on the type of injury he may suggest you whether you can be cured with medications or require surgery.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
