Suggest Treatment For Soreness In The Tongue

THANK YOU,I WAS JUST GOING TO CHECK THE SYMPTOMS OF A SORE TONGUE. I HAVE HAD THIS FOR A FEW YEARS AND THE PRESCRIBED VITAMINS AND GARGLING DOES NOT SEEM TO HELP. IT FEELS SORE AND IS AT A POINT WHERE I CANNOT EAT VINEGAR SALAD DRESSINGS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. THEY WILL MAKE MY TONGUE BURN.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are suffering from Apthous Stomatitis leading to inflammation in the mucosal surfaces present inside the mouth leading to burning on eating spicy and acidic foods..
It can occur due to a number of causes like deficiencies of Iron and Vitamin B12, acid reflux, Dry mouth, stress, side effects of medicines etc..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to to continue taking Multivitamin and iron supplements..
You can also take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Gargle with cold compresses and suck ice.
Drink plenty of water..
Chew sugar free chewing gum..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
