Suggest Treatment For Soreness, Itching And Swelling In Vagina And Anus

I am a 48 year old female, 350 pounds, given 2 doses of diflucan for a yeast infection over 2 weeks ago. I have horrible soreness, itching, burning, redness, swelling, of my vagina and going back towards my anus. The skin feels dry, and literally rolls up when you touch it. The diflucan helped for a few days, but then all of the above mentioned came back twice as bad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bumps in vagina can occur due to bacterial or fungal infections, cyst (fluid filled cavity), abscess (pus collection), contact dermatitis or pubic louse. Based on your history, vaginal infections are more possible. Mixed infections of both fungal and bacterial infections may also occur. Anti-fungal and antibacterial drugs in the oral form and topical application can also be beneficial.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
