Suggest Treatment For Soreness On The Side Of Tongue

Left side of tongue sore for few months but could not see anything. started getting sore on left floor of mouth but could not see anything. Bump appeared after few months of pain Not white bump ) Saw 2 dentists, PCG, 2 nose and throat specialists. MRI done and showed no cancer. Sore on floor of mouth started getting a little larger and very sore. Went to oral surgeon where biopsy was performed. Day after biopsy there was no more pain. This was the first time I have been pain free for approx. 1 & 1/2 yrs. Is this a good sign? Still waiting for biopsy results.

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have soreness on the side of tongue . The symptom you mention in query occur probably due to oral thrush which occurs due to poor nutrition , poor oral hygiene and antibiotics. Another cause can be initiation of apthous ulcers or canker sores and initially there can be bumps which gradually ulcerate. It can occur due to excessive dryness due infection like sinusitis as you mention in query. I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper examination and rule out causes like lichen planus and geographic tongue and also ENT surgeon for proper treatment of sinusitis. If your pain is subsiding its a good sign. Need not to panic. For now maintain proper oral hygiene , suck on sugar free candy and keep yourself hydrate by drinking plenty of water .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
