Hello. I have had some unsightly sores all over my legs for over two months now. They start out looking red, like a simple ingrown hair or such. Then they end up as a "pitted" looking sore. I had worked at the hospital with a patient who had MRSA, and thought maybe this was such. I washed my legs with Hibiclens several times daily, and even coated my legs in it and let it dry overnight. All that did was keep the sores from getting worse. It helped somewhat, but I also took some Cipro, 500 mg BID times ten days. That surprisingly did not help but a little. They seem to get better for a day or two, then back to very unsightly. Then they look like a sort of blood blister beneath the skin. I was taking the Cipro for a kidney infection I had at the time, but had one extra refill so am taking another ten days worth. Cipro is usually not bad for skin infections. I don't think it could be fungal b/c I have also taken four Diflucan tabs during the Cipro phase. They aren't scabies or bed bugs. Only on lower legs and lower thighs predominantly and some on buttocks. I live with my mother and have not had any close skin to skin contact with anyone. It might help to let you know that it is believed that I have Rhematoid arthritis, but haven't tested positive for the rH factor yet. Also the sores are tender, but don't itch except when my skin gets dried out from all the hibiclens. I also tried hydrocortisone, but didn't help much. Also, this all started as I quit taking long term steroids (48 pack Prednisone for 6 months for RA symptoms.) Can it be a reaction from my stopping the steroids? HELP!!! MY LEGS LOOK TERRIBLE AND I AM TOO YOUNG TO HAVE UGLY SCARS ON MY LEGS!!!! P.S. THE RX'S THAT I AM ON PRESENTLY ARE THE FOLLOWING: Coreg, Diovan, Zoloft, baby aspirin, Aleve, benadryl, and Adderall for ADHD. I don't take the Adderall as often as it is prescribed b/c I want to avoid the side effects and addictive nature. I do notice the sores seem to be worse when I take the adderall, but that could be just in my head. Thanking you desperately for helping:)
