Suggest Treatment For Sores On The Intergluteal Cleft
My dad had surgery and was bed bound. He now has open sores in his intergluteal cleft. Inside the top of the two cheeks. It looks like it has some yellow discharge. How do I treat it? He had a Whipple and an IRE so he has about 50 staples running vertical in his stomach area. He cannot lie on his stomach.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sores on the intergluteal cleft which seems to be due to bacterial infection of hair follicle in that area leading to folliculitis due to poor and immunocompromised state of body.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply antibiotic cream i.e mupirocin on the affected area and avoid intake of any sharp and spicy food substances. you should take proper course of antibiotics such as Amphicillin along with antiinflammatory medications. Maintain complete oral hygiene and avoid accumulation of any food products. Visit oral physiscian once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Mahehshwari
