Suggest Treatment For Speech And Learning Difficulty In A 8 Year Old Child

I have a 8 year old child who has speech difficulties, learning difficulties, is below grade level achievement, has difficulty concentrating, difficulty with memory, can not write sentences properly that make sense, causes behavioral distractions in class, makes noises or sounds, at times has inability to be still and pay attention, seems to have no common sense, trusts everyone and will do what kids tell him at school to either get him in trouble or humiliate him, teachers constantly punishing my child in school. A child told him to pull his pants down at a park and he did it because his so called friend told him and started laughing with this kid as well as my child because he said his friend thought it was funny, I got alarmed and ran to him to pull up his pants and tried to explain to him it was inappropriate and the child was trying to humiliate him, I am very upset, kids all call him the stupid kid, I do not have insurance or money to get him diagnosed, teachers at school constantly complaining and punishing my baby because he listens to what mean kids tell him to do, he believes everyone and does whatever kids tell him, can not at times understand right from wrong behaviors, must constantly reinforce in him the right thing to do and try to convince him that kids who get him in trouble are not his friends. Teachers always making him cry, parrots people s words, adults at school had my child say he was whipped and choked even when no evidence of it, he.caused facts to come to my home and my husband told them I never discipline my children by hitting them and my husband showed his body to her to. Dear Parent,

I feel sorry for you and for your child for his sufferings and can understand your concerns. Surely, the description you are giving of his behavior is not normal. What I can say is that child is probably suffering from Autism.

Autism is a disturbance of mental and emotional development. It causes problems in learning and communication and is manifested in early childhood. These kids have poor muscle tone, language disturbances, parrot like repetitive speech, extreme loneliness etc.

Autism is not uncommon. It usually affects one in 48 boys. But you do need to see a mental health professional. He/she will physically see the child and having one session with him/her can confirm the diagnosis and management of the problem.

You may need to speak to the teachers at the school, parents of his friends and your husband that your child needs special attention and his poor performance is not his or your fault. He needs your care, love and patience. He might need your attention and care for most of his life.

I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic.

Best regards,
Dr. Viraj Shah
