Suggest Treatment For Spermatocele

I recently went to the doctor after discovering a spermatocele. The doctor did confirm that s what i have. He also performed a psa test and says my psa is elevated. He suggested i have a biopsy. I m 42 and my psa is 2.1. I was alarmed that i would need a biopsy. Could the spermatocele be raising my psa level?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query, read and understood your problems...
Spermatocele is a benign meaning non-cancerous thing.
PAS below 4 is normal hence nothing to worry about it and there are many conditions other that this that PSA can be raised.

Request your urologist to have a clinical examination and have MRI of the scrotum to decide the nature of the problem.
Surgery is needed only if there is suspicion of cancer or so, or spermatocele is causing pain and other symptoms.
