Suggest Treatment For Spinal Stenosis, Arthritis And Back Pain

I have herniated discs At T-6, T-7, T-8, L-4,L-5 and S-1,. I also have spinal stenosis and arthritis through out my spine. I have back pain for the last 30 yrs. I have tried most of the muscle relaxants and I am now on flexeril 10mg TID. I have had steroids and anesthesia shots in my lower back 5 times with only minimal relief, they last about 4-5 weeks. I am 62 yrs old and my weight is 360 due to my inactivity. My question is ; are muscle relaxants reted by strength or for which ones work better than others.

Hi,

Regarding your question I should say that some relaxants work best for some patients but some not. Therefore, you should see which fits you the most but for your pain the best medication is weight reduction with a good healthy diet and physical exercise. You can try walking in a swimming pool for an hour a day as it reduces the weight on your bones.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
