Suggest Treatment For Spontaneous Osteonecrosis Of The Knee
Hi, my friend has been diagnosed with spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee and has been advised to undergo arthroscopy. Is this required at this stage (stage ii) and will his knee be completely healed after surgery? it is essential since he is a sportsperson. Please advice.
Dear patient Osteonecrosis that too in active sportsperson needs to be actively treated. How he was diagnosed? Is Mri done? If yes then how big is the area of necrosis and in what region of knee. If it's small area and in non weight bearing area of knee it can be treated conservatively. If it's big area and in weight bearing area of knee it should be treated and best way for that is arthroscopic approach. It has good results.
