Suggest Treatment For Spreading Rashes On The Legs, Arms And Buttocks
How do I get this rash under control. I have just got Aristocort from my drugest. The ointment I have has not helped at all. This ointment is called hydrocortisone 1%. Have been using it for a couple of months with no results. My legs, arms. and bottom are covered with this rash. Thank you for any help you can give. Regards Dorothy
It could be of great help if you send a picture of the areas covered with a rash. Artistocort does contain a steroid ointment (hydrocortisone 1%).
However, as this has been going on for 2 months now, I think the rash could be due to any other skin problem (to me it seems like jock itch or fungal infection as your bottom is involved too).
Now, should see a dermatologist and run skin scrapping examination to verify this. Treatment consists of anti-fungal ointment (terbinafin or clotrimazole) for at least 2 consecutive weeks.
However, it all depends on the test result and clinical evaluation by dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
