Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have experienced a sudden onset of pain under my ribs. The pain is on both sides. It s not a stabbing pain. It s a continuous pain even if I m not moving and nothing seems to help. I ve tried Tylenol, ibuprofen, heating pad, even tums bc I read it could be digestion related. I have been packing all day bc we are moving but I ve not lifted much. I am under alot of stress so thought it could be related to that but fear it could be a heart problem. It even hurts to breath deep. I m in good shape and health.
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern. The symptoms you describe could be caused by heart, lungs diseases, GERD, digestive problems or just due to mechanical chest pains. However, a good medical history of your symptoms and physical examination by the Doctor will be very important. It would have been good too if you told us if you are hypertensive or not.Your Doctor may request tests like a chest x ray and an ECG to rule out lungs and heart problems and if need be, an abdominal ultrasound. In the meantime, you may continue with your pain drug like tylenol while you prepare to see the Doctor. Hope this will help Wish you good health .You may write back if more concerns
