Suggest Treatment For Stage 4 Breast Cancer
I ve been recently diagnosesd with stage4 breast cancer and it has attacked my spine, which is deteriorating. The surgeon today said he won t take out the small breast tumor. I will be taking a hormone pill once a day for the cancer treatment. My Oncologist wants to start me on a once a month bone strengthening injection, either intervenious or under the skin. My question is what type of side effects might I experience, and also a spine Dr. here may fill in some missing bone with that cement stuff. I ll see him two weeks from today and then he ll tell me if this is feasable.

1.Removing the breast tumor at this stage is not going to help.
2. Harmone pill is part of the standard treatment, side effects are usually mild and u may experience hot flashes, bone pain , decreased appetite etc.
3. Bone strengthening injections (zoledronic acid) , side effects are mild , usually flu like symptoms, temporary flare of existing bone pain. Irregular heartbeat or severe muscle and or bone pain can occur which has to be bought to the notice of your primary Doctor.
4. Stabilizing the spine is important so get it addressed.
