Suggest Treatment For Stage 4 Cancer Of Bowel

Hello , My Father in law is detected positinve for cancer after the biopsy however we have not been told what cancer it is and what is the origin, they did endoscopy, colonoscopy and did several tumor marker test but as oer them they dont know the origin and treat ment has not been strated yest, they suspect it is stage 4 and have asked for PET SCAN now. we are based in west delhi , plz suggest

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
He has cancer. It is stage 4 cancer. Treatment depends on type and stage of cancer. But in general protocol surgery is not useful in this stage. So treatment options are chemotherapy and radiotherapy. But it will not cure the disease. It just works as palliative therapy. Despite of all treatment prognosis remains poor. Life expectancy is not good. Sorry to say but it is fact.
Consult your oncologist and plan accordingly.
