Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
39 yo female, 5 5 , 234# (eating right and exercising regularly 12 weeks with no weight loss), was just dx with uterine polyp, PCOS, hypothyroidism, high-side-of-normal fasting sugars. Hx stage IV endometriosis, RSO 11 years ago. Three pregnancies/c-sections within 45 months...we are done TTC! I want to be informed when I next speak with my doctor. I know surgery is imminent for polyp. How would you advise your patient? D&C with ablation? or Hysterectomy? Metformin for PCOS? Desacated thyroid or synthetic?
Well, you have many gynaecological problems which should be treated individually. See, for endometriosis and polyp, its better to do hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy since your family is completed and your disease is in grade 4. Also, take metformin for PCOD and levothyroxin for hypothyroidism. After operation, you will also need some hormonal treatment and other drugs. Your gynaecologist would tell you more regarding this and also about further management.
Hope this was useful. Regards
