Suggest Treatment For Staphylococcus Aureus Infection
Hello Doctor, Kindly assist on this. Years back I tested positive to staphylococcus aureus, some drugs and injections were prescribed and I took all medications as prescribed yet its still there. Please will this prevent me from getting pregnant? The last result yielded heavy growth of staph. Thanks
Staph. Aureus is a bacterial infection which gets cured on taking antibiotics. It per se cannot prevent you from getting pregnant.
Please do not worry. Since you have mentioned that the present yield shows heavy growth of Staph, it is important to check the sample for antibiotic sensitivity test to know the antibiotics suited against this.
This can be done by consulting your physician regarding this.
Since you have not written which sample you have given, I presume if its the urine sample then probably you are prone to urinary tract infections which need to immediate attention to prevent further spread of infection.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
