Suggest Treatment For Steroid Myopathy And Peripheral Neuropathy

I have been diagnosed with pheripheral neuropathy with no know cause. I did have some foot surgery in June 2015 and went to Europe in October 2015. It was a physically challenging trip. I also have a right knee issue which may have contributed somewhat. I am a 72 year old female. In 2002 I was diagnosed with steroid myopathy due to massive steroids taken for a kidney disease. I am in remission from minimal change disease. I need to see what can be done for me. YYYY@YYYY

Hello,
Peripheral neuropathy is difficult to treat. First your doctor needs to make sure there are no reversible causes like Vitamin B12 deficiency. If you drink alcohol it would be good to stop that as it can exacerbate the neuropathy. If you have diabetes it needs to be controlled as well as possible. The medications that are used most commonly to treat neuropathy are gabapentin and pregabalin.
I hope you get some relief soon.
Regards
