Suggest Treatment For Stomach Ache Due To Diarrhoea

My three and a half year old son is suffering from diarrhoea for the last 10 days. Initially the paediatrician gave him Ofloxacin syrup twice a day. The next day he added metrogyl also, the syrup with brandname Oflomac-M suggesting 1.25 tsp twice a day. My son had a bit relief but had pain in the stomach. So the doctor added Septran Syrup twice a day. Now My has taken Oflomac-M for 5 days and Septran for 3 days but still goes toilet 3-4 times a day. His stool is solid now, sometimes semi solid. The doctor says Injectible may improve the condition. There is no weight loss or water loss. Now I have stopped all the medicines but my son sometimes complains about stomach ache which lasts in about 2-3 minutes and often results in going to toilet . Please suggest a better treatment.

Hi....first I suggest you not to use so many antibiotics. Its not good. You have already used 3 types of antibiotics in your tension. Please stop it, it will cause more harm than good.
Your kid is having viral diarrhoea. Once it starts it will take 5-7 days to completely get better. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry.
There is no need to use antibiotics unless there is blood in the motion. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhoea.
I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment.
