Suggest Treatment For Stomach And Chest Pain

hello. I was defrosting some fish in the left side of my sink cause I was disinfecting plates on the right side and my fish accidentally fell in the clorox water. the fish was still in the bag but the bag was really thin and it was sealed. I didn't think anything would happen so I rinsed the bag, opened it, and cooked it. now I feel pressure in my chest and I have a stomach ache. should I be concerned??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Symptoms that can occur after the ingestion of chlorox can vary. As the chlorox was diluted, the symptoms should not be severe if due to the chlorox.

Chlorox ingestion can cause: difficulty breathing, chest pain, abdominal pain, pain in the mouth, nausea and vomiting.

Your symptoms may be related to the meal and not the use of chlorox, though it would be difficult to know at this stage.

You can consider using a lot of water to dilute any possible chlorox and monitoring your symptoms.
If there are significant changes then you should visit your doctor.

I hope this helps
